Project Description
This course was an in-depth study of the Web development process using professional industry-standard Web production and development tools such as HTML and CSS programming languages. It covered the concepts, issues, and techniques related to designing, developing, and deploying websites for business.
For our semester project, I focused on redesigning the website of my sorority, Alpha Theta Beta. After the course ended, I continued to work on the site. Using the platform, Wix, I redesigned, implemented, and managed the website. I transformed the site into one that exemplifies a focus of recruiting new members and created a position in my sorority to ensure continued site maintenance.

Current Website
The organization’s current website is not the most visually appealing and it can be difficult to navigate. Since prospective members often google our sorority when they are interested in joining a Greek organization, our website should reflect who we are. The present site does not present us in the best light and I want to change that.

Target Audience
-
Potential new members (women of Hofstra University not affiliated with a social organization on campus)
-
Active members of Alpha Theta Beta
-
Alumnae of the Alpha Theta Beta
Goals of the Website
-
To persuade nonmembers to become members
-
To provide information about who we are and what we do
-
To visually present the sorority in a manner that matches our personality in a professional manner
-
To compete with websites of the National Sororities
-
To provide information and updates to active members and alumnae
-
To host the apparel store
